Dear Mrs. Scholarship,

I am honored to be a recipient of the Pay for College Scholarship. I thank you for your generous support of this award and for helping local Brooklyn residents with financial need afford college.

I have just begun my freshman year at Prestigious University, where I plan on pursuing a degree in education. I one day hope to be a high school English teacher, sharing my love of Shakespeare and Hemingway with young adults. I have already begun tutoring local high school students as part of the university's Students in Schools program.

My parents have always stressed the importance of education and the value of a college degree. I hope one day to share these same lessons with high school students and to help prepare them for success in college.

Once again, I want to thank you for making this scholarship possible and for your generosity toward the Brooklyn community. I hope to represent the Pay for College Scholarship in a positive manner and give back to my community as you have.
