The Chicago Community Trust recently announced $500,000 in awards to 12 recipients under an innovative new program, Community News Matters. The award winners included Loyola's School of Communication, which will receive $45,000 to support a partnership between the University and Benito Juarez Community Academy.

The part-time MBA program housed within the Graduate School of Business recently earned recognition from BusinessWeek magazine in the publication's ranking of the top part-time MBA programs. Loyola finished 16th nationally, and 6th in the Midwest region.

First-year law student Elizabeth A. Coyne has been awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student scholarship to teach English as a foreign language in South Africa, beginning in January 2010. Elizabeth plans to return to Chicago in the Spring of 2011 to finish her first year of law school at Loyola.
