1. Tickets Available for Schooler Lecture Featuring Greg Mortenson

Humanitarian, international peacemaker, former mountaineer, co-founder of two non-profit organizations and co-author of Three Cups of Tea, Greg Mortenson will present the Schooler Lecture at Mount Union College on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 8 p.m. in the Timken Gymnasium of the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex.

2. Dr. Beth Canfield-Simbro to Discuss Adolescent Risk Behaviors on February 16 at LINC Luncheon

Dr. Beth Canfield-Simbro, assistant professor of human performance and sport business and co-director of the honors program at Mount Union will present “What Are Those Crazy Kids Up To?” at the LINC Luncheon on Tuesday, February 16 at noon in the East Room of the Hoover-Price Campus Center. The LINC luncheon is a college-community luncheon series presented by Mount Union professors and community members conversing about current topics.

3. Peterson Field House Solar Panel Roof Generates Enough Electricity to Power Several Average Size Homes

The solar panel roof above the Peterson Field House on Mount Union’s campus is generating enough electricity to power several average size homes. It is one of the largest single solar arrays in the State of Ohio.

4. TGI Friday Job and Internship Fair to be Held at Mount Union on November 6

Mount Union College will host the 6th annual TGI Friday Job and Internship Fair on November 6 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex (MAAC).

5. Mount Union College Announces Center for Global Education

Mount Union College is pleased to announce the formation of the Center for Global Education which will serve as the “global hub” on campus for any international related endeavor.

6. Mount Union College LINC Community Luncheons Scheduled for Fall 2009

The Community luncheon series known as LINC (lunch, information, networking, and conversation) which began in 2007 will continue for the 2009-2010 academic year, starting Tuesday, September 15 at Mount Union College.

7. Jennifer Peteya to Intern in Mongolia through the Keck Geology Consortium

Jennifer Peteya, a senior geology and art major at Mount Union College, is preparing to spend her summer thousands of miles away studying geological history from hundreds of millions of years ago in central Asia.

8. Mount Union College Announces New Major in Financial Mathematics

Mount Union College has added a new major in financial mathematics to its curriculum. Classes will begin with the fall semester of 2009.

9. Alliance and Canton Middle School Students Attend College Visitation Day

Eighth grade students from Alliance and Canton middle schools attended a College Visitation day at Mount Union College on Tuesday, May 12. This day was sponsored by Council Attracting Prospective Educators (CAPE) and Mount Union College. Dr. Thomas Gannon, professor of education at the College coordinated the event.

10. Sidra Gulzar: A Perfect Three Years

The liberal arts and accounting education that Sidra Gulzar received at Mount Union College has instilled in her the values of hard work and determination. In just three short years she earned a bachelor of arts degree in accounting and now plans to further her education by pursuing a master’s degree in accounting.
