1. Saint Anselm Honors Patron Saint, Abbot Primate with Academic Convocation

Saint Anselm College received a rare, 15th century edition of a book by the college's namesake, Saint Anselm of Canterbury, during an academic convocation held Saturday in the saint's honor.


2. Saint Anselm College Marks the 900th Anniversary of the Death of its Namesake with an Academic Convocation

Saint Anselm College will hold an academic convocation on Saturday, Nov. 14, to commemorate the 900th anniversary of the death of the college's namesake, Saint Anselm of Canterbury. The event will occur at 1 p.m. at the Saint Anselm Abbey Church.


3. Saint Anselm College's Abbey Players Present "As You Like It"

Saint Anselm College's Abbey Players will perform Shakespeare's As You Like It at the Dana Center from Wednesday, Nov. 12 through Friday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m.


4. Chapel Art Presents Music and Poetry

The Alva deMars Megan Chapel Art Center at Saint Anselm College has commissioned works of music and poetry in conjunction with its ongoing Figural Presence art exhibition. Both works will be presented this month at the colleges Chapel Art gallery.


5. George von der Lippe, professor of German, Dies After Long Illness

George B. von der Lippe, Ph.D., professor of German in the modern languages and literature department, died Monday, Nov. 2, after a lengthy illness. He was 61.


6. Saint Anselm Mourns Fallen Hero, Marine Capt. Kyle Van De Giesen '02

Father Jonathan DeFelice, O.S.B, president of Saint Anselm College, released a statement on the tragic death of Marine Capt. Kyle Van De Giesen '02, who was killed while serving in Afghanistan Monday, October 26.


7. Brother Armand Passes into Eternal Life

Brother Armand Huppe, O.S.B., 87, Benedictine monk of Saint Anselm Abbey in Goffstown died, October 16, 2009 at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester.


8. Professor Elizabeth Ossoff Named Director of Research at NHIOP

Professor Elizabeth Ossoff, of the psychology department, has been appointed the director of research at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College. The Research Center at NHIOP includes programs in international affairs, American democracy, politics and civic life, and religion and public life.


9. The Chapel Art Center at Saint Anselm College Presents A Figural Presence, a Special Exhibition, Starting Sept. 24

The Alva de Mars Megan Chapel Art Center at Saint Anselm College will open its exhibition season this month with A Figural Presence, which will feature drawings, paintings and sculptures of the human figure.


10. Francis Megan '51, Generous Benefactor, Dies at 79

Francis J. Megan Jr. '51, a generous benefactor of Saint Anselm College and father of three Saint Anselm alumni, died Thursday, July 23 2009 at the age of 79.
