The Master of Science in Health Services Management (HSM) program provides a comprehensive course of graduate study to prepare health service providers and managers for the challenges of modern healthcare. The program curriculum is intended to provide students with an advanced understanding of contemporary business practices, modern healthcare systems and organization, policy development and planning techniques, management and leadership strategies, health behaviors, financial management, and analytical research methods.

The program provides students with the knowledge and skills to fully utilize proven healthcare management methods, while developing new theories and applications relevant to modern healthcare management. It is designed to introduce students to the broad array of research designs and methods that characterize modern health services research. It aims to provide students with a deep and broad knowledge and understanding of the US health care and public health systems and, enabling students to frame and conduct policy-relevant health.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be empowered with the knowledge and skills required to work as managers in healthcare organizations. They will be able to identify problems related to healthcare and to respond to these challenges. In addition, graduates will be able to identify health-related concerns of diverse stakeholders and to develop methodologies to effectively respond to these challenges including the development and implementation of effective public policy. Finally, graduates will be able to clearly and persuasively articulate their approach, methods, and findings to technical and lay audiences in both written and oral forms.
