The campus itself sits in the big city of Toledo, yet the school represents more of a small town feel in the way our school is so close and united with wonderful residential neighborhoods surrounding it. We also have our football stadium located in the heart of our campus, which helps create the enormous school spirit and attendance at football games. How could you not expect a huge crowd turnout when the Toledo Rockets won the MAC championship in 2004 and made a bowl appearance for the third time in four years? UT is an institution that engaged with its metropolitan area. Many UT students intern/co-op at local companies and many UT faculty bring in extensive real-world experience into the classroom. Many area residents are UT alums and good friends and support the university in many ways. UT's campus is a host to a variety of campus and city-wide events.

If it were to be launched, as currently aimed, it would land on the 50-yard line of Doyt Perry Stadium, home of the Bowling Green Falcons, UT's arch rival.
		Traditions / School Myths One popular myth about the University of Toledo is that in Centennial Mall (the beautiful center mall of campus) there are gargoyles that sit atop our oldest campus building's belltower. These Gargoyles are said to watch over UT and protect us from the rival schools (could be one of the reasons UT is recently had a home football stretch where they went 32-1).
